The aim of this project is to provide people with the skills, motivation and equipment required to work and lift themselves out of poverty. Courses will be run in a variety of mainly practical subjects, such as building, carpentry and agriculture. On completion of the course, each student will receive a set of basic tools required. Follow up will monitor the progress of each student in their new profession.
A property has been purchased, and is currently in the process of renovation, for this project.
A Arca de Esperanca has received a request, from a local community leader, to provide a primary school in one of the poorest areas of Pemba. The school anticipates an initial intake of 150 pupils. Solid, fair education will build a nation, and this project is taking an important step towards that goal.
